Tochigi Tech Plan Grand Prix, an event aimed at fostering an ecosystem to discover and nurture teams that use science and technology to change the world from Tochigi Prefecture, was held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, in collaboration with universities, companies, and financial institutions in Tochigi Prefecture. The event, organized by the Tochigi Next Generation Industry Creation and Development Consortium, saw the announcement of nine finalists and their presentations and evaluations. Teikyo University was represented by two finalists. The first was a presentation by Kaoru Mitsuhashi, a lecturer in the Department of Mechanical and Precision Systems in the Faculty of Science and Engineering, entitled "Behavioral Phase Analysis and Training Method Development for the Inheritance of Occupational Skill Movements." The second was a presentation by Mitsunori Akutsu, a graduate student in the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, entitled "Development of a Garbage Collection Robot for Collaborating with People in Urban Environments." Mihashi's presentation won the Matsushita Construction Award for the company. The event aims to encourage collaboration and research between companies and universities, and with the win by lecturer Kaoru Mitsuhashi, there is hope for further growth and development in this area.
