In a poignant ceremony held at Teikyo University's Itabashi Campus on Wednesday, President Yoshihito Okinaga paid homage to the esteemed Professor Kota Okinaga. The ceremony marked the presentation of titles, medals, and honors to the family of the late professor emeritus from Teikyo School of Medicine. Professor Kota Okinaga, a distinguished figure in the field of medicine, devoted his career to teaching and research within the School of Medicine and the Graduate School of Medicine. As the Chair Professor of the University's School of Medicine Surgery Department, his influence extended well beyond academic boundaries.
Renowned for his contributions to spleen and immunity research, Professor Okinaga significantly impacted the medical landscape. His work also played a pivotal role in standardizing and advancing hernia-related procedures in clinical settings, leaving an enduring legacy in surgical practices.
