On Saturday, October 12, 2024, ten students from Teikyo University Faculty of Science and Engineering Department of Mechanical and Precision Systems and Graduate School of Science and Engineering presented their research at the Tochigi Block Research Exchange Meeting hosted by the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers and held at Light Cube Utsunomiya (Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture).
This exchange meeting is organized by Iku Mitsuhashi of our university Faculty of Science and Engineering Department of Mechanical and Precision Systems Senior Assistant Professor as the organizer. Students from Ashikaga University, Utsunomiya University, and Oyama National College of Technology, who are studying mechanical engineering in Tochigi Prefecture, as well as our university, explain their research through poster presentations. The students introduced their research on their graduation theses and master's theses, and many questions were asked and opinions were actively exchanged.
After the event, the Tochigi Block Fair was held, where students from elementary school to university could experience a manufacturing workshop. From our university, Associate Professor Yoshihito Ikemata of the same department and students from his laboratory exhibited a "passive walking robot and walking support machine," conveying to the participants the excitement of a walking robot that does not use a motor.
Teikyo University's Faculty of Science and Engineering will continue to engage in research and spread the joy and excitement of manufacturing.
