On Thursday, November 7, 2024, we held a workshop on Japanese dance, a traditional form of Japanese culture, at the Teikyo University Hachioji Campus, inviting Senior Assistant Professor including Fujima Toyoyuki, master of the Fujima Kan'emon school.
Approximately 30 international students and Japanese students attending Hachioji Campus participated in this workshop, providing a valuable opportunity to experience traditional Japanese culture through a three-pronged program: "1. Learn about Japanese dance," "2. Try on a yukata," and "3. Experience Japanese dance."
Participating students commented, "The expressions on their faces while performing really captured the performers' aura, and it was so beautiful to watch from up close," and "We were able to see such beautiful dance, and once again felt the traditional beauty of Japan. The sound reached the depths of our hearts." Some of the students were wearing yukata for the first time, and seemed unfamiliar with it, but it was very impressive to see them working hard under Senior Assistant Professor 's guidance with serious expressions on their faces.
Our university will continue to actively carry out such activities in order to realize Educational Guidelines of "International perspectives."
