On Friday, March 7, 2025, the presentation judging for the business contest "TEIKYO Startup Award" was held at Teikyo University's Kasumigaseki Campus.
Teikyo University has been selected for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's "University-based Startup Creation Support Project" to be implemented in 2023, and is working on various measures to become a hub for creating startups with practical and innovative technology.
This contest is aimed at Graduate School and graduate students, faculty, staff, and alumni who are interested in starting their own businesses, and is the first campus-wide business contest held at our university. In the presentation judging, finalists, selected through a document screening, gave presentations on their business ideas that they had refined in order to commercialize the results of their research. In addition, on the day of the event, there was a talk session by faculty members of our university who have entrepreneurial experience, in which they shared their experiences of the difficulties they faced in starting their own businesses and how they overcame them, as well as sending words of encouragement to participants who aspire to start their own businesses in the future.
At the awards ceremony at the end of the competition, finalists who achieved outstanding results were presented with certificates of commendation by our university's Chairman, Yoshihito Okinaga, as well as financial support to be used for commercialization and social implementation.
