The 2024 Faculty of Education Awards Ceremony was held atHachioji Campus

The 2024 Faculty of Education Awards ceremony was held at Teikyo University's Hachioji Campus on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. This awards ceremony recognizes individuals and groups enrolled in Faculty of Education who have achieved outstanding results and received high praise in the fields of "faculty, sports, culture, welfare, etc." This year, three students received the award and were presented by Dean Haruo Sato.

Since entering university, Sodai Matsuba (Faculty of Education 4th year) has been actively participating in community contribution activities mainly in his hometown of Saitama City, and has been engaged in learning guidance activities for about 30~40 junior high school students at any given time, such as continuously providing learning support activities for junior high school students as a learning advisor at Saitama City Shifugi Junior High School Saturday Challenge School. In addition, he has coached elementary school students as the head coach of the tag rugby team of elementary school students at Keya Kids Omiya Rugby Football Club, sponsored by the Saitama Rugby Football Union, using his experience as the captain of the Rugby Football Club at his alma mater, Ina Gakuen Sogo High School. In addition to providing technical guidance on tag rugby, the program also taught the prevention of accidents, the joy of exercise, and the importance of hard work and teamwork, and was recognized for gaining the trust of the children and their parents.

Yasuhisa Miura (4th year, Faculty of Education) wrote a graduation research paper entitled "Conditions for entrepreneurship education to develop the ability to carve out the future - focusing on practical examples targeting elementary school students." He analyzed current policy trends and local educational practices, and conducted in-depth research into the conditions for implementing entrepreneurship education for children at the elementary school level while building relationships between children and adults in the local community. He was also recognized for having completed the courses and practical training related to the Social Researcher Course, Social Education Director Course, and Japanese Language Teacher Course with excellent grades, and for making active contributions to various extracurricular activities on campus throughout the year, such as Campus Life Tutor and Home Concierge, while utilizing the skills he developed through these courses.

Ryona Sakuma (4th year, Faculty of Education) has received the Tama Mirai Scholarship from the Tama Academic, Cultural and Industrial Network Public Interest Incorporated Association for 2023. As a member of the 10th batch of Tama Mirai Scholarship recipients, she participated in the program, interacting with companies, organizations and local governments in the Tama region, visiting companies, exploring issues in Chino City, Nagano Prefecture, and writing a thesis on the past and future of urban development, and creating recommendations for revitalizing the region. When applying for the Tama Mirai Scholarship and Program, she utilized the results of her learning in the on-site teaching material development research course she took at this faculty in writing her application thesis and in her actual activities.
