On Friday, February 28, 2025, the winners (individuals) of the 2024 Law Proficiency Examination were announced, with Reika Fujimoto (4th year Faculty of Law) from Teikyo University receiving the Excellence Award in the Basic course. This course asks basic level questions that law beginners should first master, and in 2024, 3,532 people nationwide took the exam, 2,279 of whom passed, with Fujimoto achieving a high score of 56 points out of a possible 60 points.
Fujimoto, who decided to take the exam because he wanted to receive a certificate of passing as proof that he was enrolled in Faculty of Law, concentrated on his studies, including going through Previous test papers books four times. Fujimoto also studied mainly constitutional law in a seminar taught by Assistant Professor Nakaoka Jun of the Faculty of Law Department of Law and commented, "Being surrounded by enthusiastic seminar students gave me a sense of ambition, and my knowledge has increased dramatically over the past two years. I think I was able to win the Excellence Award thanks to my seminar activities. This is the first time I've been recognized for my studies, so I was surprised, but I'm happy."
Fujimoto said that studying law in earnest has expanded his options after entering society, and we look forward to seeing his future success.
