On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, an exchange learning program was held for second- and third-year students in Department of Orthoptics, Department of Clinical Laboratory Science, and Department of Sport and Medical Science, Emergency Medical Technician Course, Faculty of Medical Technology Teikyo University.
The Faculty of Medicine is conducting cross-departmental initiatives aimed at deepening understanding of interprofessional collaboration and Team Medical Care. This program was selected for the Educational Improvement and Reform Program Development Support System, and aims to increase students' motivation to learn through two-way classes in which students take the lead, as well as deepen their expertise and promote understanding of other professions.
On the day, students participated in practical training such as BLS (Basic Life Support), 12-lead ECG, and vision tests, and deepened their understanding of each other's specialties while also realizing the importance of teaching each other and communicating with other professions. In addition, they further deepened their understanding of the professions they are aiming for, and many of them expressed their enthusiasm to contribute to the realization of Team Medical Care. This exchange broadened their horizons and provided an opportunity to reconsider their approach to future training.
Teikyo University plans to continue expanding this program so that it can be implemented in even more departments. By further strengthening collaboration between departments and enhancing the content of the practical training, we will provide an environment where students can learn independently. This will improve the practical skills of multi-professional collaboration and aim to develop human resources who can immediately contribute in the medical field of the future.
