Hachioji CampusTeikyo Sports Supporters Association and the baseball team held an on-campus event

On Wednesday, April 16, 2025, the Teikyo Sports Supporters Association and the baseball team held an on-campus event at the Teikyo University Hachioji Campus, where they held a speed gun contest using tennis balls. The purpose of this event was to provide an opportunity for students and faculty to experience the appeal of Teikyo sports up close and personal, and to increase interest in club activities, and was planned primarily by students from the Teikyo Sports Supporters Association.

The contest took place during the lunch break, so many students gathered at Mominoki Square, where they could be seen smiling as they threw tennis balls handed to them by students from the baseball club towards the catcher. From students who hadn't thrown a ball in a while to those with baseball experience, everyone threw the ball well, and one student from Rugby Football Club recorded a ball speed of 136km/h, drawing exclamations of admiration from those around him. Participants in the contest were presented with a special baseball club player card, making it a great opportunity for people to learn about the baseball club's activities and players.

Nana Yazaki (4th year, Faculty of Liberal Arts), who organized the event, explained the purpose of the event, saying, "We held the event to welcome new students to the Teikyo Sports Supporters Association, and to value the connections between students who belong to the baseball club and the general student body, create an atmosphere of support, foster interest in university sports, and increase awareness of our association."
The baseball team's captain, Rui Miyagi (4th year, Faculty of Medical Technology), said, "This event made me realize how much support we are able to carry out our activities thanks to the support of many students and faculty and staff, including the students and staff of the Teikyo Sports Supporters Association. I would be happy if this activity leads to more people supporting the baseball team. We appreciate your continued support."

Teikyo University will continue to create opportunities for students to experience sports through on-campus events, fostering interactions between students and helping them to feel closer to sports, thereby revitalizing the campus.
