Fukuoka CampusProfessor Kawamura received the Excellent Presentation Award at the 27th Academic Conference of the Japanese Society of Radiation Oncology Brachytherapy Division

At the 27th Academic Conference of the Japanese Society of Radiation Oncology's Brachytherapy Division, held in Shirahama, Wakayama Prefecture on Friday, May 16th and Friday, May 17th, 2025, Professor Kawamura Shinji Department of Radiological Technology Teikyo University Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology, won the Outstanding Presentation Award for his presentation titled "National comparison of radiation source strength and facility management support using an output dose confirmation cloud system."
In this study, a cloud-based data server provided by the Radiation Oncology Quality Management Organization was used to build a system that allows radiation therapy facilities nationwide to register and access their own facility's output dose data. The aim is to apply this system to brachytherapy and have registered facilities use it as a self-check tool to objectively evaluate their radiation source strength management. Professor Kawamura said, "I believe that by making this system available to more medical facilities, we can contribute to the spread of safe and secure radiation therapy. Encouraged by this award, we will continue to make improvements." Our university will continue to promote the improvement of medical care and contribution to society through practical research in collaboration with clinical sites.
