On Saturday, September 14, 2024, Teikyo-kyoiku Alumni Association Research Exchange Study Session 2024 and the 12th OB/OG Teachers' Meeting of 2024 were jointly held at Teikyo University Hachioji Campus. In previous years, each meeting was held separately, but this year they were held jointly with the aim of further deepening the connection between students and teachers, administrators, and those involved in educational administration who have graduated from our university and are now working in the teaching profession.
The meeting began with a speech by Teikyo University President Yoshihito Okinaga, who is also Teikyo-kyoiku Alumni Association, on the need to creatively combine "school practice" with "university knowledge." In the first part, school administrators, mid-career teachers, and young teachers each reported on their educational and research activities in the school, and in the second part, participants split into several groups to carry out group work. During the group work, current teachers were seen offering advice to students about their anxieties and worries about their future teaching careers.
Participants commented, "Through exchanges and practical presentations with current teachers, including students from my alma mater who are about to enter the teaching profession, I was able to not only broaden my own horizons, but also realize the joy of being able to contribute to the career paths of my juniors." Students also commented, "I will become a teacher who can confidently speak about my own experiences and thoughts, just like the seniors who spoke today."
