A place for comprehensive support for students aiming to become teachers, nursery teachers, or welfare workers
The Teacher Training Center not only provides consultation on obtaining teaching licenses (for kindergarten, elementary school, junior high school, high school, special needs school, and school nurse) and childcare worker qualifications, and guidance on various types of training, but also provides preparation for teacher recruitment examinations and employment support in the childcare and welfare fields.
The Teacher Training Center will fully support you in helping you realize your dream of becoming a teacher or a nursery school teacher.
This is Teikyo University's "School Philosophy," or the type of teacher and childcare worker that the university aims to create. And if you are aiming to become a teacher or a nursery teacher, you can develop the professional skills required to become a teacher or a nursery teacher through three types of learning at our university: "academiclearning in faculties and departments," "studying in the teacher training course (to obtain a teaching license) or the nursery teacher training course (to obtain a nursery teacher qualification)," and "studying for the teacher or nursery teacher employment selection exams."? The Teacher Training Center provides support for "teacher training courses," "nursery school teacher training courses," and "study for the recruitment examinations for teachers and nursery school teachers."
Regarding the "teacher training course," in order to integrate the knowledge and theory learned in the teacher training course with the on-site experience gained during teaching practice and other experiences to develop practical skills, we hold study sessions on "teaching and lesson planning in subjects and areas" and "educational issues," and strive to provide information, consultation, and support. In the "Childcare Worker Training Course," we focus on individual instruction before, during, and after the four practical training sessions over the four years of study, and provide ongoing support to help students steadily improve their skills throughout the training.
Regarding "studying for the teacher recruitment examination," in order to pass the examination and enter the teaching profession, we provide systematic guidance and advice from the first to fourth year, from passing the recruitment examination to starting work, through our unique teacher recruitment examination preparation program "Roadmap: Dreams of Becoming a Teacher." In addition, we provide individual consultations and practical courses to link learning in the teacher training course with learning about the teacher recruitment examination. Regarding "studying for the childcare worker recruitment examination," we provide support such as examination assistance and interview guidance tailored to students' needs. Students have endless worries, such as "I'm worried about my practical training," "What kind of studies do I need to do to become a teacher or childcare worker?" and "What measures should I take to pass the recruitment examination for teachers and childcare workers?" For many students like this, the Teacher Training Center has teachers with extensive experience in schools and childcare facilities who will stand by and help you resolve your questions and concerns.
If you want to become a teacher or a nursery school teacher, the Teacher Training Center is waiting for you.

Facility introduction
With the aim of turning the knowledge learned in the teacher training course and nursery teacher training course into skills that can be used in the real world, there are classrooms with special equipment on the "Teaching Practice Floor" for teachers and the "Childcare Practice Floor" for childcare workers. As a training ground for acquiring practical skills, it can be used not only for exam preparation and job hunting preparation, but also as a place to simulate teaching practice and childcare practice.
■ Mock lesson room The facilities reproduce the size of the classrooms of elementary and junior high schools, and are equipped with not only desks and chairs but also lockers and cleaning tool cases used in actual schools. In addition to the electronic blackboard, we have installed equipment that allows students to use tablet terminals and smartphones as clickers to support the GIGA school concept. In addition, students can take pictures of children in a mock lesson with two cameras and monitor them in real time. They can take the recorded data home and use it for retrospective learning.
■ Multipurpose learning space "T-BASE" The resident faculty members are on hand to provide specific consultations and individual guidance on teaching-related matters. It is also a multi-purpose open space that includes an area for creating teaching materials, a meeting area where students can study and talk with each other, and an individual study area. The T stands for "TEIKYO," "Teacher," "Training," and "Team," and BASE is imbued with the idea that it is a place where students can always consult with teachers and talk with their peers if they have any concerns.
We have a wide selection of materials and teaching materials related to childcare, welfare, and children. On either side of the center are childcare practice rooms, which are equipped with picture books, paper theaters, toys, and other items, providing an environment where children can learn through hands-on experience.
It is located on the second floor SORATIO SQUARE Hachioji Campus. Study and research mainly for liberal arts faculties, including Faculty of Education, is carried out here every day, and it is located in an easy-to-visit location during breaks and before and after classes.
