板橋キャンパス広田雅和准教授が「NEDO-Front-Runner（FR）」に採択されました

On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, Masakazu Hirota, Associate Professor the Department of Orthoptics Faculty of Medical Technology Teikyo University, was selected for the "NEDO-Front-Runner (FR)" project, a public offering program run by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), a national research and development agency, entitled "Support for R&D startups in establishing businesses and securing management talent/Deep Tech talent discovery and entrepreneurship development program (NEDO) Pioneer course."
NEP is a NEDO program that specializes in nurturing and supporting potential entrepreneurs from the pre- to early stages of starting a business. FR will conduct research and development and build business models to solve social issues using technological seeds, while receiving hands-on guidance and advice from NEDO-appointed "Accompany Runners (ARs)" who provide commercialization support, as well as support for activity expenses.

Associate Professor Hirota aims to create a society where all children can learn with the right vision for learning and maximize their potential by developing an application that monitors the progression of myopia and suggests the appropriate time to replace glasses. He has previously participated in startup support initiatives such as business competitions and business support programs run by our university.
It is expected that this adoption will lead to further progress in research, development and consideration towards social implementation.

Teikyo University will continue to support startups in order to commercialize and implement the research results of its faculty members and others in society.
