The Hachioji Campus, where the Faculty of Law is located, has an ideal environment for learning law and politics. For example, there are mock court where you can learn experientially while reproducing the exchanges in the court, and software that allows you to freely search for materials such as proceedings speed records, precedents, and newspaper articles.
Mock court
In the mock court that imitates the actual court, the court that corresponds to the lay judge system is realistically reproduced. We carry out simulations of criminal and civil trials and debate-style exercises. In addition to the "mock trial" in which students become judges, prosecutors, and lawyers to experience the procedure of criminal trials in a simulated manner, debates by the plaintiff team and the defendant team using actual civil trial materials are also held. Face-to-face exchanges of views in immersive mock courts will lead to deeper, more heated discussions and an understanding of how the trial will proceed.
Teikyo University Media Library Center (MELIC)
MELIC is the academic information hub of Hachioji Campus. With a collection of over 850,000 books, PC stations for information searches and report writing, a university-wide reading promotion project called the "Co-Reading Library," and study support from senior students, it is a learning space where people and information come together and new ideas and knowledge are born.
